About Tamara Hess

After experimenting with different mediums I finally found my niche. Watercolor is unpredictable and tricky for me. I really enjoy the challenge. I especially enjoy combining the crisp illustrative look of pen & ink with the washes and bright colors of watercolor.

I have always had fun sketching and playing around with whimsical shapes. I enjoy creating something new and different. I especially like to take an object rooted in reality and twist it to my imagination. Most of the little characters and houses are a result of my "skewed" point of view.

In the last five years I have found my passion for trees. I love the way they bend and turn and have a sense of movement. Trees provide so many things for our environment. From shelter to the air we breathe. Trees are amazing things and I am motivate to try to capture their energy.
